The competition slowly evolved from being just a drama competition to one with elements like sculpture, pottery, painting, orchestra, puppet dancing, and a host of other such events, were incorporated. Moreover, Students from Engineering colleges started incorporating the usage of electronic gadgets like LCD projectors for shadow plays, high-end amplifiers for their sound systems, and other technological advances, which gave them an edge over their competitors.
Every team is given a time period of one hour, in which 15 minutes are given for setting up the props, the lights, the orchestra, the sound systems, and all their paraphernalia.

Starting back in 1974, as the brainchild of Suryakant Kulkarni, the main aim of FIRODIA KARANDAK has been to give a platform to college students for them to showcase their artistic musings for the last 46 years.
